Term 3 - Aida Production.

Aida was an absolutely amazing experience for everyone involved. Congratulations to all involved. The final product was absolutely outstanding and quite possibly the best production ever at Rotorua Boys' High School. A huge shout out to the Band who were again ... AMAZING. Awesome stuff guys. A privilege to be part of this great journey.

Pacifica Beats Regional Finals

The start of Term 2 saw an Awesome day out at the Pacifica Beats Regional Finals.
Open Arms (named after the awesome legendary Raukura band back in the day) took out first place with a highly energetic performance. It was so cool for a band from RBHS to finally win this regional event. The band featured: Tawhirimatea Witoko, Wirihana Te Rangi, Lacey Betham, AJ Moke, Terence Apiata, Tuariki Brown, Te Hakaraia Wilson, Te Tauhu Kingi and Arapeta Paea. These guys are the creme of the crop at our school and really performed an outstanding set.
Another band of year 9s named the Kirikino Clan performed really well. The band featured: AJ Kirikino, Jacob Walker, Lenix, Tony Taitua and Leevi Polyblank-Hicks. Well done all boys who performed on the day.

Cliff Curtis Visit

We were lucky to have a famous face visit us in our Year 10 Option Class. Cliff Curtis was at school for the Mike King presentation and decided to pop in. Awesome to be in the company of such a talented and respected actor!

Super 8 Cultural Festival 2014

Also at the start of Term 2 we had a great trip to Napier for the Super 8 Cultural Festival. Both the Music Group and Solists performed very well but unfortunately we could not make the top three in either catergory. It was our Drama boys who were an absolute hit coming in first place along with the Junior Theatresports and Kapa Haka. It was a great trip and all the boys had a wonderful time.

Big Sing Competition 2014

Start of Term Two 2014 saw the Big Sing Competition held at Bethlehem College in Tauranga. Our Choir was placed in the Highly Commended Category and were also awarded the Top Performance of a NZ Song and Best Male Choir. An awesome day out.
