Classes 2014

We have some great classes in 2014 so far. A great bunch of students in Senior Classes and two Year 10 classes for the first time in 7 or 8 years. The Music Department is growing and I am really proud of all our students who are doing great things already this year.

Our Level 2 and 3 class have started the year by working on a Music Research Assignment. Level 3s choose any Music topic they like and Level 2 have to investigate a NZ Music topic. So far we have a range of topics chosen from Pop Music influence on Kapa Haka to the rise of Lordes and her worldwide success.

Level 1 class are working on the great Joaquin Rodrigo composition Concerto de Aranjuez, focussing primarily on the 2nd Movement Adagio which explores some of the tragedy Rodrigo suffered in his life.

Year 10 are looking at Reggae Music and the history of Jamaican Pop Music and Year 9s are exploring the Music Elements and about to start getting into their Piano and guitar assessments.

An exciting start to the year.
